Sept 28 – Oct 5, 2026 · The Art & Music Festival
POST-TOKYO is a multi-venue art and music festival in Komoro, Nagano — Sept 28 – Oct 5, 2026, run with ETH Tokyo to close out ZuCity's month-long popup city. Day parties, live sets, and popup shops move between our Vibe Space, a 100-year-old kominka, the bars along the Komoro scramble, and a closing rave — with onsen, sauna, and mountain hikes to recover between them. 90 minutes from Tokyo. Pay by card or save 20% with crypto.
POST-TOKYO symbolizes three changes. The decompression right after ETH Tokyo and ZuCity, when the external bustle ends and internal calm begins. A POST request to Tokyoites — get out of the city and into the countryside. And a bet on what comes after Tokyo: Japan flowing back into the inaka instead of collapsing into one exhausting megacity that hollows out everywhere else.
It is the simplest thing ZuCity offers — fun, deep nature, art, culture, and local organic Japanese food — and the surest. Once you have soaked in the onsen, danced on the mountain, and eaten at your neighbors' tables, you understand why we live here.
We shoot POST-TOKYO as it happens. Until this year's footage lands, here is what to expect.
ETH Tokyo is a week of Ethereum builders in the city. POST-TOKYO is where that week lands. A collaboration between ZuCity and ETH Tokyo brings the conference up the mountain to Komoro, Nagano — into the neighborhood we are building for the long haul — for the festival that closes out the month-long ZuCity annual popup. Come down off the conference, and come see the countryside.
A week of Ethereum builders, talks, and side events in central Tokyo.
A shinkansen and a local line from Tokyo to Komoro, Nagano — city to mountain in an afternoon.
Sept 28 – Oct 5 in Komoro: day parties, onsen, forest air, and long dinners with the neighborhood.
Day parties on the mountain. Local and Zuzalu DJs, live performances from the community. Sunlight, sound system, and the friends you spent a month becoming.
Health, wellness, relaxation. Deep sleep, hot onsen soaks, cold plunges, sauna circuits — a week engineered for your body to actually recover.
Slow cooks and long walks. Mountain trails, forest air, hot springs, and the everyday Japanese food and culture of the Komoro inaka.
Art and merch from ZuCity community artists and brands, rare sticker packs, and hands-on commons building — proof you were part of something that matters.
One pass covers the whole festival — access, day parties, popup shops, and the neighborhood. The longer you stay and the more friends you bring, the lower the rate. Pay by card or save 20% with USDC on Ethereum.

Four nights, four venues around Komoro — the whole town becomes the festival. Dates are Sept 28 – Oct 5, 2026; set times land closer to the day.
Sep 28
The festival opens at our own Vibe Space: live sets, the first popup shops, and the neighborhood you'll spend the week with.
Oct 2
A night in a 100-year-old kominka in Nakagomi, hosted with the local community who keep the house — their music, their home cooking, and the neighbors who make Komoro what it is.
Oct 3
A friendly takeover of two Komoro bars across the street from each other, Mimi and 333: the owners open their doors, the crowd fills both rooms, and the yen stays in town.
Oct 5
The month goes out dancing. We share the location with ticket-holders closer to the day — a permitted, curfew-honoring rave that keeps the neighbors' sleep.
The same crowd that fills the popup — founders, researchers, engineers, and artists, plus the builders coming up from ETH Tokyo. Anyone who finished the conference over-caffeinated and under-slept and wants to remember why they came to Japan in the first place.
Finished ETH Tokyo and wondering if the mountain is worth the trip? It is — and it's closer than it looks. Komoro sits at 700m in Nagano: onsen steam, mountain air, and a ZuCity community that's already hosted 50+ visitors this season. Come for the day raves, the outdoor onsen, the soba, and the neighbors you'll spend the week becoming friends with.
The crowd from the popup plus the builders coming up from ETH Tokyo — founders, researchers, engineers, and artists. Day parties on the mountain, music in the basement venue, and long dinners at the neighbors' tables. Over 50 people have already come through this season.
Mt. Asama fills the window. Outdoor onsen circuits, cold plunges, sauna, and sunrise hikes to reset your body after the conference. At 700m the air is cool — a proper decompression from the city, down to about -5°C in winter and topping out near 28°C in summer.
Local soba so good Tokyo named a chain after it, organic mountain vegetables, and slow home-cooked meals. In spring the top-100 cherry blossoms bloom at Kaikoen Castle — the mountain gives you a reason to come back in every season.
Shinkansen up, a short local line into town, then a 15-minute walk from Komoro Station to the ZuCity house. City to mountain in an afternoon — closer than you think.
The common route from the conference: Tokyo Station to Sakudaira on the Hokuriku Shinkansen (~75 min), then the Shinano Railway local into Komoro (~25 min). From Komoro Station the ZuCity house is a 15-minute walk. Flying home via an airport? Haneda is the closest — Narita adds about an hour. Want a door-to-door arrival? Ride the shinkansen to Karuizawa or Sakudaira (~70 min) and we'll set up a community car pickup in Telegram a day or two ahead. Watching the yen? The overnight highway bus from Shinjuku is the cheapest way up.

Yes. POST-TOKYO is a four-venue art and music festival closing ZuCity's popup month in Komoro, run with ETH Tokyo — a small, high-signal crowd of founders, researchers, engineers, and artists, plus the ETH Tokyo builders coming up the mountain. Partners get their name on the nights, the venues, and the year-round Vibe Space that carries the festival after it ends.
Send us five things: your brand, the tier or budget band you're considering, the activation type, your decision date, and a reply email. No call required.
Sponsorships are disclosed as sponsorships — on the night and on this page.
We're inviting artists — especially from Nagano and New York — to run popup shops and activations across the festival, and to keep selling year-round at the ZuCity Vibe Space after everyone flies home. Your work joins a local scene, not a pop-up that vanishes; what you build here keeps earning.
Applications for POST-TOKYO popups close two weeks before the festival — Sept 28 – Oct 5, 2026.
$21.00 USD / day
24 hours inside ZuCity Japan. $21 before community and referral discounts. A pass, not a membership. Walk in, work, eat, talk, sleep elsewhere. Come back tomorrow if the day earned it. The Grocery Store during work hours — fast wifi, quiet corners, the shared table where someone is always arguing about mechanism design. Weekly community dinner if the timing lines up. Open nights at Nakamandem when there is a concert or a takeover. Whatever workshops the residents are running that week — d/acc, DeSci, longevity, solarpunk agriculture. For Zuzalu alumni passing through Nagano. For popup-city travelers checking the signal before a longer stay. For digital-nomad-visa holders based in Tokyo who want a weekend around people building something. Friends of residents. Builders driving up from Karuizawa. Komoro is 90 minutes from Tokyo on the shinkansen. Three nearby stations make the math trivial. Mt. Asama on the horizon, castle ruins a walk away, onsens after work, soba for lunch. You can taste the whole thing in a day if you move well. No tour, no itinerary, no curated experience. Door code and a day. What happens inside is what happens for residents — which is the point. Public good, priced like one. The city funds its own open hours by letting the right strangers in. A popup city is a door that opens for the people who already know to knock.
